Our History

​Justin and Eric met while attending Colgate University before starting careers on Wall Street, and later in private equity. When the idea was born to create their own company, they knew the Eastern Shore of Maryland was the place they wanted to open their office and call home.

The name ShoreGate combines their Eastern Shore home base (affectionately "the Shore") and “Gate” as a shortened nod to the friendship they formed while at Colgate University.
